Dual-input (Level 1/Level 2) charger
A dual-input charger is a portable unit that runs on both a 120 V household outlet (Level 1) and a 240 V outlet (Level 2), usually via swappable plug adapters — one device for home, travel, and backup.
Examples include the Tesla Mobile Connector and many portable 32 A units. On 120 V they add ~3–5 miles of range per hour; on a 240 V outlet they reach 5.7–7.7 kW.
They trade maximum speed (most top out at 32 A) and weatherproof mounting for flexibility. Many EV owners keep one in the trunk alongside a mounted wall unit.
